About us
Responsibilities
For one of our seed companies we are looking for an experienced Research Associate to support the development and execution of cell-based assays in the context of metabolic diseases.
- Supporting general laboratory duties and maintaining laboratory stocks
- Conducting routine mammalian tissue culture
- Assessing cell surface markers as well as secreted proteins using FACS & ELISA
- Assessing protein expression and mRNA expression by Western Blot and RT-qPCR
- Perform cellular genome engineering using plasmids, lentiviral particles, or CRISPR-Cas9 technologies
- Cellular GPCR activity assessment using reporter gene, cAMP, bArrestin assays, etc.
- Work with primary cell models (e.g., adipocytes, hepatocytes, pancreatic beta cells)
- Developing novel and state of the art cellular assay platforms for metabolic diseases
- Responsible for design, plan and execution of the above-mentioned experiments
- Trouble shooting
- Maintain excellent documentation for lab books and present results in internal meetings
- Supporting colleagues, associates, and scientists with their work
Qualifications
- Apprenticeship with 7+ years experience or B.Sc./M.Sc. degree with equivalent level of experience in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Immunology, Bioengineering or related discipline
- 5+ years of experience in assay development
- Experience with cell culture and cell based assays, preferably in metabolic disease models
- Experience with biologicals, preferably mAb or bioconjugates
- Organized with attention to detail and quality driven mindset
- Excellent communication skills, ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Highly motivated team-player with can-do attitude, flexibility to learn new techniques and passion to work in dynamic and innovative environment
